The only people U need in Ur life are the ones that prove they need you in theirs.

There's mistakes I've made; Chances I've thrown away; Some roads I should've never taken.
There's been signs I didn't see; But it doesn't matter.
When life gets harder it makes me that much stronger; Some pages turned, Some bridges burned
But all lesson learned!

The Award Goes to...

*drumroll*

Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ Restaurant.

It was one of our "let's try out somewhere new" date with the colleagues. I came across this restaurant while googgling for one. Neither one of us has ever heard of it before, plus, promotional price entitlement for some credit card. Thus, Why not? Even say if the food is not up to expectations, no damage done, trying.

I made a reservation a day prior e dinner.

It was located @ Park Mall, level 4.

On the 21st evening, our entry wasn't being greeted by anyone, and so forth, we proceed towards the hostess. Apparently, she was busy with some stuffs. We apologised for having to interrupt her for a minute. She stopped, "stamped" her pen down before glaring at us. Okay, fine. Acceptable. I will be quite unhappy too for the "barged-in". She then requested instructed us to wait for a few minutes before checking on our seat allocations.

Few seconds later, came back to us, pouring out her words fast and inarticulate. We could hardly make out what she said, but it sounded something like our table is not ready yet but we can help ourselves with the foods while her collegue prepare the table for us. That's absolutely fine with us despite it being unreasonable (for god sake, I called in earlier. Doesn't tht gave them ample time to prepare our table? The place wasnt even pack!) but it's not a big deal. We tend to overlook on some matters at times, too. We took it as a small glitch. However, the way she delivered those words were harsh. For all that, we remained cool, still.

We followed her to our designated area. What greeted us next, was an unpleasant smell. In fact e entire restaurant stenched of that. Still and all, we shrugged that off. What happened next was unacceptable. I repeat, offensive.  We asked for a change of table. This another waitress, obviously displeased with our request, looked around before telling us off rudely, "Only once! After this cannot change already." We were in complete disbelieve. ATROCIOUS!

Michelle, sensing my anger, quickly suggested that we dine in somewhere else which was the most brilliant idea, ever.

With that, we stepped out of that god damn restaurant, never turning back.

Dear Owner/Manager of the above mentioned restaurant, U have just lost, not only, 6 food lovers, but countless more, just because of your barbaric girls. Have U forgotten that words of mouth travel faster than lightning?

Good luck to your future success endeavor. Should you want to prosper, we suggest you start searching for service-oriented and polite personnels.

Thank You, very nice.

Last but not least, e mister's entertainment room.
I am full of fantastic ideas. What we need now, is someone who can turn our dream a reality.

We know our space is limited, but, we'll figure something out, definitely. :)
To make it worse, we both have our own preferences. To merge our ideas into 1 is not an easy task. I foresee us having a tiff over major disagreements here and there. Looking forward to that. NOT! =X

We want to be in love with our home so much so that we will brush off the idea of going out. =D We shall see about that. Heh.

For now, I shall hibernate for more tip-top ideas.

Till then, toodles.

I live to eat. Yes. The thought of food perks me up almost all of the time. Yeah, I know I should stop complaining about being fat, right, since I am the root problem here. Just can't help it. Typical of girls attitude, right? Hee~!

What's your fav hawker/coffee-shop?

I am fuss-free. I eat almost everything (even tho not anywhere). Generally, I am more of a noodle person. But of course, it will all depends on what I feel like having. However, I do have one special request though. I will tend to ask for hell loads of chili padi-es to be added into my noodles/rice. I have an extremely strong threshold level of spiciness. The more, the better ummppphhhh. ;)

And thus far, the only place that can satisfy my desire will be Mas Ayu. Have U guys been there?

I was first introduced to this stall by none other but my better half, 5 years back. Back then, I was not much of an eater. I only ordered a drink. Love ordered Fried chicken rice. It somehow seemed to be Yus's favourite stall. We went there again shortly after my first visit. Yus ordered the very same dish meanwhile I ordered fried noodles. Being a spicy freak himself, Yus asked for their "pedas gila" (crazily HOT) version.

Verdict : The SPICIEST dish ever. Mas Ayu beats others hands down. Yummylicious good too. The distinctive spiciness is effing crazy. It’ll make U tear and without U knowing water starts flowing down ur nose as well. I practically *cried*. Oh yeah, It is THAT fiery. I even introduced a couple of friends there, and they agreed instantly. One will need at least two glasses of drinks.

On 1 of my visits, I brought back home for my family to try out. My baby sister, being e only one sibling who cannot handle chillies well, jumped and scratched her heads while screaming for water. It was comical, I tell ya. We ROFLOFAO. It took her a couple of minutes to settle down before the zesty & tangy taste mellowed. To our surprise, she proceeds to the dining table and dig in, again. After which the whole drama rewinds. The entire episode last for at least half an hour. She’s crazy. Drama-mama. *roll eyes*

Convinced now, my dear fellow readers?

Mas Ayu's HongKong Noodles

But, wait! It is hard for me to reveal this. Nah, they are still around. It’s just that, over the years their standard has dropped. No longer up to my expectation. They have upgraded their stall. It has got a better ambience. Service has never really been an issue. It’s not a restaurant. So, of course what U pay is what U get.

Presently. Price, increased. Portions, lessen by nearly half. They used to be generous in their servings. Taste, is so-so. Why is this always the case? Why can’t stallholders kept up to their standards when business blossoms? Price is not a problem, surely, we patrons understand, as long as the quality and quantity is as par as previously.

A sneak preview of their current menu.

Greed is the answer to all of the above. Agree?

I am sad. Because there is nothing special about Mas Ayu now.

I will still drop by to have a meal or 2 w Love. But it won’t be as often. Mas Ayu used to be on top of the list on our normal “dressed-down” days. But not anymore.  :(

Famished & disappointed us

Nevertheless, for some of you that have not heard of them before, it is worth the travel, still. Go on, give it a try if you happen to be somewhere around East Coast. U should try the Fried Rice (they’ve got different types), fried chickens and calamari. For drinks, I especially love their iced Teh Tarik.

Location :
55 Upper East Coast Road
Singapore  455215

If you intend to take away, why don’t you call them first to make an order at 64492844. By the time U arrives, say in another 10 minutes, the food will be ready for collection. J

Coincidentally, while looking for their addy, I stumbled upon their website : http://mas-ayurestaurant.blogspot.com/

To my silent readers, it’s time for me to move on and find another great location, please share, will ya? J Either email me @ raff.alysha@gmail.com ; DM via FB @ http://www.facebook.com/yusraf.alysha ; Nudge me on Twitter @ http://twitter.com/#!/AngelicAlysha

Secretly hoping for Mas Ayu to wake up.  I am still not over U tantalizing MY tastebuds.

In Love and will forever will lust for…

HAIR. LOCK. MANE.
It comes in all form of length, textures and style.

Mine's long, almost-straight-like re-bonded AND smooth.

If you have been following my tweets, U might have been 1 of those unlucky people who has to bear with my rants. I have been going on and on about my hair. Roll your eyes all you want. COME ON! Just about everyone's into their hair.

Vain-pot much? I somehow agree but not entirely. Hair is an important asset not only to us ladies, but men too. The first thing most beings will do when they take a look at their reflection in the mirror is to adjust their hair. Right? Well, at least I DO. Before I even check out my face to touch up on my make-ups.

So, what exactly is wrong with MY hair when I seemed to have been blessed w a perfect hair that most girls yearn for as described earlier on?

On days, when my hair just wont cooperate w me. :(
NOW, U tell me, how not to? It's all tangled. Uwaaaa~!!

Urrggghhhh!!!!!

Before I go more in depth on my hair issues, we shall go through an overview of common hair problems faced by people from all over the world.

  • Dry & Brittle
  • Dry scalp which leads to dandruff
  • Frizzy
  • Graying
  • Greasy
  • Hair Loss
  • Split ends

In my case, I'm suffering from the later two. I'm naturally born with very thin and fine hairs. My hair loss is not due to hormones or aging. What I am experiencing currently is agonizing. I have a severe "hair-tangling" problem. Like seriously! It's not the normal tangled-ends issue. MY ENTIRE HAIR ARE ALL MESSED UP AFTER EVERY SHOWER.I cannot even comb my hair. Before I even start, it was stucked to my brush. I did what I was left to do. Forced it through. And every.single.time I will find a whole bunch of hairs in my hand. My precious hairs. It hurts like mad. But what other choice do I have? I do not wish to go around like a mad girl. *Screams* Can you people sense my frustration here?

I started having this hair issue for the last 3 months. At first, it was not a big deal for me. But now, I am willing to do anything just to get my hair back on track. It feels like ages since I was able to glide my hand through my hair without any "hiccups". I tried all kinda products. However to no avail. It is depressing. This, I find is the major hair mess I have to deal with, first.

Just to add on, during my last visit to e salon last month, it took 2 hairstylist to dis-entangled my hair before they can even proceed with e hair cut & colouring. :S

Poor Hairdrssers. Im no big diva. *FtheirL*

How in the world can this young lady maintained her "never-ending-only-God-Knows-how-long" hair?! Without getting it tangled even after those twirls and swirls?!?! I would have hanged myself to death accidentally w those golden mane. *LOL*

Jokes aside. Back to reality.

Tangled hair is the root of all hair evil. Why? My hair is way too flat. I need to add volume to my already boring hair. Especially to the top-portion. I bought the bump-it kits, tried it on and gave up. The quantity of my hair is insufficient to cover up the kit. It was supposed to be a magic kinda thing. But it doesn't work for me because it is visible to the public. Thanks to my thin hair, and a BIG thank you to my tangled hair for lessening/thinning the number of threads on my already so little hair.

Therefore, once my main hair problem is fixed, only then can I concentrate on fixing the rest.

I have been facing splint ends on and off. I know it is unhealthy, but it does not affect my everyday lifestyle. Still, I need to get it treated.

And I believe Svenson's Hair Care has the solution to my hair complications. To know more on what services they have got to offer, click on the advertisement above. They are even having a treatment promotion going at a speacial rate of $18.00 and U will get a free hair shampoo!!! So what r U waiting for? :))

Frizz-free hair is much LOVED.

Meanwhile, on my bad hair days which happens almost every single day, besides tying em up, I will resort to this:

Accesorries play an important role. It doesn't hide my out-of-bed hair, but they draw away attention. :)
Last resort. Wear a wig. =.=

Feeling Model.. ;p

Rock Chick In e making... *peace*

Should all methods fail, screw all of those. Try imagining that u have e most gorgeous hair.
  Dear Hair,
Why, oh why, e sudden change? What on earth have went wrong? Have I been mistreating U?

Say, if I promise I will pay extra attention on U and provide U with all o e nutrients needed, will U cooperate with me? I've missed the old U. Please come back.
Love, Ur Master.

Happy Twenty Eleven World.

We have finally stepped into a brand new chapter.

Ready?
Get Set...
GO!!!

Riiggghhhhttttt.

Let’s move on to the topic Im gonna “cover”. It might be a controversial issue for some. No pun intended to quote or aim at anybody in particular.

What’s YOUR take on partying? Celebration: Right? Wrong?

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

First of all, what exactly does celebration means?
In simplified words, it means:
-Noun 1. An act of celebrating.
-Verb 1. To rejoice in or have special festivities to mark (a happy day, event, etc)

Frankly, I feel, this is a neutral questionnaire. It’s neither right nor wrong.

Reason for me bringing up this issue was simply because of some remarks/”shoutouts” I came across over FaceBook & Twitter.

Some that went ANTI/against e idea of celebrating. Self-righteous remarks like one has no desire to celebrate and despised those enjoying e ceremony. They stereotyped and categorized these jovial bunch as atrocious with awful behavior and what they did was unethical.

Pic taken Z.O. 2010

Now, I am not taking this entry on a personal level. I am voicing out the opinions from different perspectives.

For, number one, I am not a party go-er. Contradicting much, U say? Why? Just because recently I attended ZoukOut & countdown till wee early in e morning?? Hah! SO?? Does that give you every right to label me and the rest who went as a bad person?

We ain't CHEAP, MORONS!
People tend to misjudge me. What do they know? I never fail to disappoint each and every single one of my new-found friends with their “predictions”.

People close to my heart. We may be imperfect, but we are not raunchy.

But, seriously. What’s e big deal w being a smoker and drawings all over one's body who drink excessively in a night club? That description does not make a person evil.

My Aunt smokes and is still a heavy smoker up till date. That alone doesn’t stop her from being a filial daughter, loving wife and caring mother.  I exceptionally loathe those who think that a girl can’t smoke but a guy can. It should be, everyone should not smoke because it is unhealthy.

Well, truth be told. I tried picking up smoking back in my teens, it doesn’t work. I choked on the smoke, I instantly dislike it. I wish it has been otherwise, because I read that majority who smoked are skinnier than those who don’t, no? Facts: Smokers in e process of quitting gained weight. >.< There goes. However, for consolation, I am glad I was not hooked just by that 1 experience. I am able to save up the amount for designers’. =p

Tattoos. I appreciate body arts. I would love to get one if only it’s not against my religion. I could only wish.

I might have beautified my tongue. How interesting aye?

As for partying, I do not normally attend "social gatherings". I am very selective when it comes to accepting invitations. This habit o mine has been instilled from way back in my late teens till up to date. Clubbing has never been my kinda thang. I, myself, could not understand sometimes WHY every single occasion has to be celebrated in a club? There are so many other places in Singapore. Can someone kindly enlighten me, here?

Oh well, not every one shares the same opinion as U. As long as the other party didn't try to get into your way, there is no need for a fuss. Respect em, and U'll receive ur due respect. As easy as ABC.

Take for instance, e ZoukOut event. This year was our very first. We went because we want to experience it firsthand. We, too, want to join in the fiesta. Aftermath, both me & Yus talked, laughed and joked on the FUN and funny happenings. We concluded, we had tremendous fun together; however it might be the first and last time. What we cannot stand about the event was the jammed “human-traffics”. :S

This is not as bad if U were to experience it Urself. But then again, this is not so bad compared to IT show crowd's. =p

We will not rule out partying. We will go as and when we missed it.

I don’t feel a need to explain myself to anybody BUT I just want to because I want to convey the message across PLUS it’s MY space.

For more celebrations photo, go on to www.dazzexplosion.blogspot.com

Therefore, to those who irks, based on my own random guessing just on their lifestyle, I believe majority haven’t had a chance to try this out. I do not blame them. It might be due to their conservative upbringing. Yes, everyone is open to voice out their thoughts, but, please think before U spit. Do not make it sound like the other group is childish, immature, irresponsible etc just because they partied. LAME. Doesn’t mean U can’t and dislike, everyone else can’t and have to be in the same vibes as U too.

I understand some party-goers went overboard. If they get themselves wasted, still, they dun owe U anything. I may be wrong, but I think this bunch are simply down with over-jealousy and heart-pained to see others having a blast? If so, then one needs to do some soul searching.

In any ways, RELAXXX… it doesn’t make one any cooler, party or no party. Has anyone ever look down upon U for not having fun outside or mentioned what a boring life U’ve got there? If so, I feel sorry for YOU. They shouldn’t have. That's very rude. One could even have a hellaluva of a time, with their love ones at home. So, why despise others? Get a life and chill! Every one out here is just trying to unwind from those stress. Heavy workloads, piling paperwork and school projects. Give em a break, will ya?

It's never too old to have fun. One does not have to give up having fun just because one is an adult or even grandparents! I suggest, do something KERAZAY! Trust me, U'll feel good after tht.

Peace NO war, YO!

Sharing w U Derrick's Barry NYE 2010 LIVE! Just earlier on during the day, I tweeted about it. Unsure where and when will this famous Britney’s impersonator will be in town, and Allah granted my very last 2010’s wish.
