I live to eat. Yes. The thought of food perks me up almost all of the time. Yeah, I know I should stop complaining about being fat, right, since I am the root problem here. Just can't help it. Typical of girls attitude, right? Hee~!
What's your fav hawker/coffee-shop?
I am fuss-free. I eat almost everything (even tho not anywhere). Generally, I am more of a noodle person. But of course, it will all depends on what I feel like having. However, I do have one special request though. I will tend to ask for hell loads of chili padi-es to be added into my noodles/rice. I have an extremely strong threshold level of spiciness. The more, the better ummppphhhh. ;)
And thus far, the only place that can satisfy my desire will be Mas Ayu. Have U guys been there?
I was first introduced to this stall by none other but my better half, 5 years back. Back then, I was not much of an eater. I only ordered a drink. Love ordered Fried chicken rice. It somehow seemed to be Yus's favourite stall. We went there again shortly after my first visit. Yus ordered the very same dish meanwhile I ordered fried noodles. Being a spicy freak himself, Yus asked for their "pedas gila" (crazily HOT) version.
Verdict : The SPICIEST dish ever. Mas Ayu beats others hands down. Yummylicious good too. The distinctive spiciness is effing crazy. It’ll make U tear and without U knowing water starts flowing down ur nose as well. I practically *cried*. Oh yeah, It is THAT fiery. I even introduced a couple of friends there, and they agreed instantly. One will need at least two glasses of drinks.
On 1 of my visits, I brought back home for my family to try out. My baby sister, being e only one sibling who cannot handle chillies well, jumped and scratched her heads while screaming for water. It was comical, I tell ya. We ROFLOFAO. It took her a couple of minutes to settle down before the zesty & tangy taste mellowed. To our surprise, she proceeds to the dining table and dig in, again. After which the whole drama rewinds. The entire episode last for at least half an hour. She’s crazy. Drama-mama. *roll eyes*
Convinced now, my dear fellow readers?

But, wait! It is hard for me to reveal this. Nah, they are still around. It’s just that, over the years their standard has dropped. No longer up to my expectation. They have upgraded their stall. It has got a better ambience. Service has never really been an issue. It’s not a restaurant. So, of course what U pay is what U get.
Presently. Price, increased. Portions, lessen by nearly half. They used to be generous in their servings. Taste, is so-so. Why is this always the case? Why can’t stallholders kept up to their standards when business blossoms? Price is not a problem, surely, we patrons understand, as long as the quality and quantity is as par as previously.

Greed is the answer to all of the above. Agree?
I am sad. Because there is nothing special about Mas Ayu now.
I will still drop by to have a meal or 2 w Love. But it won’t be as often. Mas Ayu used to be on top of the list on our normal “dressed-down” days. But not anymore. :(

Nevertheless, for some of you that have not heard of them before, it is worth the travel, still. Go on, give it a try if you happen to be somewhere around East Coast. U should try the Fried Rice (they’ve got different types), fried chickens and calamari. For drinks, I especially love their iced Teh Tarik.

If you intend to take away, why don’t you call them first to make an order at 64492844. By the time U arrives, say in another 10 minutes, the food will be ready for collection. J
Secretly hoping for Mas Ayu to wake up. I am still not over U tantalizing MY tastebuds.
In Love and will forever will lust for…
