Just a couple of Sunday back (15/05/11) my partner & I went for a pampering session.
Another plus point we love in common. [Well, just fyi readers, we are e total opposite of each other! U wldn't believe it if I were to list each & every one down. So, why do we end up together, one will ask. Opposite attracts mah! ;p]
Here is one o them. The *very* important attribute that is needed before I will even consider paying or even enter the spa : The atmosphere & environment. In another simpler term, it has to look "appetizing" to my standard. My Mister Y will never understand why. You see, whenever we are in places like say for instance, Bangkok or Batam, yes, there are a hell lot of massage palour, BUT not the kind of place I envision myself to relax in. Got what I mean. Now, I am not being difficult or "mengada-ngada", but seriously, comfort has to be considered apart from also the dollars and cents. Agree?
So, this time, we went to Wen Luxe Spa.
I beg to differ if anyone were to retort we spend unnecessarily. All this, Thanks to e local best deals online website. (I will share w U people, the website in my very next entry. I promise. :)) With these kinda best deals in town, anyone can go to a reputable spa. Unlike overseas, the prices here are relatively on a much higher side, I know. Normally, on average for the past year, we visit local spas only once a year. But w these kinda deals, we can afford to go every single month. I am serious.
Let me share with you the deal I bought way back in January. This was supposed to be our Valentine's Day celebration but the spa was always fully booked and for some reasons I kept having to change our appointment date due to some unforeseen circumstances. To be honest, I was tempted to postpone it again but I can't because of the expiry date! FYI, the response for this deal was too good that the expiry has been extended from the 19th of April to 30th April and again further extension, up till end of 30th May. ;)
Our "In e Mood for Love" package cost us $88 for a couple, instead of the original price of $540.00. Which means it was 83% off its normal price. Too good a deal, right. However, after purchasing this deal, I kinda regret it, because a couple o days later, there are other deals from other spas waayy cheaper. Some even as low as eighteen freaking bucks!!! But oh well, the better. I can have all the time in the world to try the rest.
So under this package, one can have a choice of either one hour of either the Collagen Radiance Face Spa or Swedish Aromatherapy Massage. This is followed by a detoxifying Ear Candling of 20 minutes! I am eager, because, I have never done this before! According to medical practice, this is a natural relaxing remedy for many ailments, including sinus pressure, migraines, chronic earaches, tinnitus (ringing in your ears) and even stress! Not only that, we were given some refreshments and chocolate truffles! Mad Love!
All this is done in the privacy of their Grand Couple Suite, with en-suite shower facilities. It is totally PRIVATE! =D

Since I am doing a post on Spa, just recalled & (decide to compile) earlier in Feb, we went to Lifespa. The one located @ Carlton Hotel.
This time, thanks to Standard Chartered. We get to enjoy a 1-for-1 treatment at just $45 nett.
Tea was being served.
Their service, was better compared to Wen Luxe.
And in terms of location & ambience, of course Life Spa has a higher advantage as well. Strategically located in the heart of Bugis area. Being part of the Carlton hotel, they are expected to deliver top notch service and they delivered it well. Ambience was perfectlly luxurious & cosy. It fits my bill.
At the end of the treatment, they did try to sell us their packages. One thing I like about them is that they did not try to hardsell their products. The staffs allow you to think about it first and despite the rejection, they still smile & gave us the very same treatment still, unlike some other spas.
Verdict : One should try their treatment when they are having any promos. If you are coming along with your partner, do ensure that you highlight to them so that they can reserve a couple room for you or else, you will end up doing the treatment in separate room, like us. Not that I mind, since my partner snores. *winks*
